Precautions for the use of plastic film

Plastic film is a ground covering film, usually transparent or black PE film, but also green or silver film. Used for ground cover to increase soil temperature, maintain soil moisture, and preserve soil structure. Below, we will introduce the precautions for using plastic film.
The use of plastic film requires selecting different specifications according to the width of the bed. After covering with plastic film, it can increase soil temperature, retain moisture, protect roots, and improve fertilizer efficiency. There is also a reflective effect to improve the light receiving conditions of the lower leaves in plants. Suitable for use in spring and autumn.
As the plastic film is prepared to keep the seedlings warm and moisturize, the distance between the film and the plants should be controlled well. In this way, the entire film can play a good role. If the distance between the two is too close, it will cause a large temperature difference between the plant roots and the film above. If the distance is too large, it will not achieve the insulation effect.
When using plastic film, try not to use a blade to cut the film, but use your fingers to pick the film, ensuring that the opening is large and will not close. Generally, a diameter of 5-8 centimeters is suitable. In greenhouse vegetable cultivation, the timing of covering with plastic film should be determined according to specific climatic conditions, which is beneficial for the rooting of seedlings and the cultivation of strong plants.
